Joan was the last actress to appear on the show. Rumor has it that Anne did not want to be Laurie Strode, the character in John Carpenter's 1978 horror film, Halloween. The character was played by Jaime Lee Curtis. Carpenter claims that Anne declined his invitation to play Laurie Strode. Anne claims that she doesn't recall ever being contacted or given the part from John Carpenter. One of her agents could have rejected the role on her behalf and with no knowledge. Glen Larson, who had provided her with the first draft script of a character of the TV series Battlestar Galactica from 1978, at first, she was chosen. Her initial reaction was to decline the role since the character did not seem to be strong enough. Glen wrote an entirely different character to play Sheba, which was much more powerful. She embraced the Living Legend's script after having read its first 25 pages. The film ran for one season. The actress co-starred on Joyride alongside Desi Arnaz Jr., Melanie Griffith (the daughter of Desi Arnaz Jr. and Lucille Bell), Robert Carradine and Melanie Griffith in 1977 and in The Dark Tower with Michael Moriarty (1987).
